Every lunar March 16(May 2 2007) is birthday of HM Chu of Shan-Hai Temple( Mountain and sea palace), Ape hill( Chai-Shan), Kaohsiung. The temple is at western border of ape hill, near the rock seashore, is the only religious center of local residents. The origional god statues are moving to Nei-Wei (eastern side of ape hill) with the immigrants forcing by Japanese at 1938 era(Nei-Wei Shan-Hai Temple), a brotherhood between this two temples,now. The chief god is HM Chu, then HM Wen at left, HM Che( Di) at right,they are at main cabinet. The God of Birth is at left cabin,the God of Land at right cabin.每年農曆三月十六日是柴山王爺生日 柴山王爺也就是朱府千歲 供奉於山海宮 乃位於柴山西簏 瀕台灣海峽 是台灣唯一建於海邊的寺廟 它也是柴山居民的信仰中心 廟內奉祀朱府千歲 溫府千歲 池府千歲 註生娘娘 土地正神 1938年 日本人強迫居民東遷至內惟 本廟眾神明也被遷到彼處 乃"內惟山海宮"之由來 現在 兩地居民仍互動頻繁

Hello, A. Henryi 2007台灣魔芋報到

Amorphophallus henryi named by Henry at 1905, and exclusively noted on Taiwan. Appearing at every late April or begining May. It is distributed to Taichung, but mostly is at this hill, made up of limestone, the pedicel is indistinct.

From north to see the ape hill is hard, for there is Navy Base. The pictures here is from Ker-Tze-Liao, Tze-Guan Hsian, Kaohsiung County, where is a fishing port, too.

The weather is gradually warming and the birds are showing at ape hill .There are thrush, pigeon, and some kinds to be clarify. The squirrel is searching for foods, too. 春天到了 柴山的動物也陸續出現了 有"翠翼鳩" "小彎嘴" "松鼠"

還有 尚待查證者置於最上 長尾 棕腹 在"雅座"附近拍攝

Happy birthday, God of Land Ape Hill

The Moon Festival is also Birthday of the God of the Land( GOL, 山神 通常是 福德正神 ). It is Oct. 6 this year, here I show you the small temple of God of the Land. It is located at Northern Chai-Shan. In ordinary Daoist temples of Taiwan, there is a god of land who act as a manager and protection as a rule, but when the main god of a temple is God of Land, then what about the god who managed the temple? Here is the example, there is a smaller seat of god of the land on right anterior site of the main god GOL.Besides, there is god of tiger in front of the Main God ( GOL), an unusual structure of a small temple.
台灣民間信仰的廟 宮 殿 堂....等 在主神右側 通常供奉土地公 乃掌理神界的雜事者 像柴山的山神土地廟 主神是福德正神 那麼 掌管他的雜事的神祈 應該如何稱呼? 柴山 山神土地廟雖小 有虎爺鎮候 規模不小 但不知合乎體制嗎?

macaque's love story

Macaque's love story like human's, but more directly. This is not first time I see before, but actually the first time to photographied and post on internet.
Another pictures are the injuried macaques, either hand or leg, may be due to macaques war but artificial by human being.
The end this page is the Killer of Chai-Shan, for the local government prohibit to feeding macaque and fine about NT$ 6,000.00, but in vain. The woman is the Killer of Chai-Shan, she is the negative case of a civilized society. I thought her is an Chingonu--"Chian Go Ro ( in Japanese )"

Here is the blog about natural living things of the Ape Hill,Kaohsiung,Taiwan.
It is named by the Hollander on 1622, and called Da-Gu Shan( hit drum),Da-Go Shan( hit a dog) in different aboriginal terms. The hill is located at north west side of Kaohsiung, as a barrier of the city along the Taiwan Strait. There are many tales, stories of the Hill, and now it is called Chai-Shan( a hill filled up with wooden materials), now, and the most famous is the "macaque".The followings are the nature living things of the Hill.
